Description:

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the defined manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations. Including the hiring (with assistance from HR) training and development of customer focused service teams. This role requires an intense focus on meeting customer needs and ensuring consistent, superior service to BHC customers. The Operations Manager must manage the quality, cost and efficiency of each assigned operation through timely production and delivery of products in compliance with customer, business and regulatory requirements.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and improve mechanisms to ensure the manufacturing and warehouse organization provides the required products in a consistently timely, cost effective and quality manner while guaranteeing collaboration across operational groups/teams/workers
  • Ensure standards for product quality, equipment and operator performance are maintained, cost-effective technology is used, and fixed assets are maintained to maximize production; propose relevant recommendations regarding new equipment and plant property improvements when necessary
  • Partner with supervisors and leaders to assess resource needs across the manufacturing and warehousing
  • Drive performance and provide guidance to achieve goals and promote a culture of quality, productivity, accountability and continuous improvement while achieving and exceeding financial targets through quality and cost efficiency
  • Review, develop and implement the policies and procedures which enable the team to provide outstanding service and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with Company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Train, develop and evaluate staff (with assistance from HR) to provide timely, accurate and consistent service to both internal and external customers
  • Responsible for routinely providing direct feedback and development of team including timely corrective action as necessary, defining and establishing clear objectives and expectations, performance management and development opportunities
  • Establish key performance indicators that drive change and visibility to the team and leadership. Ability to track, trend, and monitor routinely with active data analysis to target and drive results
  • Ensure work orders are constructed according to specifications and to schedule while certifying that quality standards are met or exceeded
  • Assist in the development and management of budgets, schedules and key operating metrics; tie team performance goals to company objectives and record data
  • Review production and operating reports; direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Managerial/Technical area (or related field of study) or 7-10 years manufacturing experience or comparable experience, preferably in food, pharmaceutical or beverage products
  • Must speak, read/write and understand English
  • Experience working in a team leadership role in Manufacturing Environment is required
  • Ability to record, report and analyze reliable data, experience with NetSuite database a plus
  • Working experience with manufacturing order fulfillment preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, be on-call and (minimal) travel as necessary
  • Willingness to be very hands-on and detail oriented
  • “Can do” attitude
