Description:

The Plant Engineer is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in industrial plant: Establishes standards and policies for pollution control, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.

The overall goal of this position is to apply preventative and reactive maintenance processes and continuous process improvement techniques that result in high performance machinery focusing on supporting the production environment. This position will develop and continuously improve our maintenance systems. The Plant Engineer is accountable for training, parts, inventory and maintenance metrics while partnering with production to improve the performance of both sites and business overall.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing, maintaining and improving a Total Preventative Maintenance program
  • Responsible in conjunction with the COO of mentoring of the Maintenance Manager and production personnel
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Manager, outline maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery
  • Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance elements of production line installments and decommissioning events
  • In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, develop Standard Operating Procedures for equipment operation and parameter settings including preventative maintenance, predictive analysis, and work order scheduling
  • Analyze work flows for productivity, review KPI monitoring systems for improvement
  • Maintain associated business costs and capital expenditures for quarterly reports
  • Responsible for design, development and execution of engineering project, calculations, diagrams and technical reports and regulatory documents
  • Performs other duties as requested by management

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Technical area (Engineering or related field of study) or 7-10 years manufacturing experience or comparable experience, preferably in food, pharmaceutical or beverage products
  • Must speak, read/write and understand English
  • Experience working in a team leadership role in Manufacturing Maintenance Environment is required
  • Ability to record, report and analyze reliable data, experience with NetSuite database a plus
  • Working experience with order fulfillment, manufacturing or maintenance management preferred
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems in a multitude of applications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, be on-call and (minimal) travel as necessary
  • Understanding of key operational details - from automation machinery to internal and external processes
  • Experience with Automation/Advanced mechanical electrical skill
  • PLC Troubleshooting skills are Highly Desired
  • Willingness to be very hands-on and detail oriented
  • “Can do” attitude
